    Advantages of PC-300 bacteriostatic agent 

    With its broad-spectrum activity, superior compatibility and stability and its low toxicity at the use concentration, it has become an ideal and efficient bacteriostatic agent for in vitro diagnostic reagents, and is the best product to replace sodium azide, especially in acidic to weakly alkaline reagent formulations, in alkaline environments (pH > 9), it is recommended to use PC-950 or the fourth generation of bacteriostatic agent (PC-300 Plus) to replace sodium azide. 

    1. It has a broad-spectrum antibacterial ability, which is effective against bacteria (including G-positive and negative), fungi and yeasts. 

    2. It can quickly eliminate the activity of microorganisms, eliminate biofilm and inhibit the reformation of biofilm. 

    3. It does not contain formaldehyde, and its antibacterial effect does not depend on the release of formaldehyde, low dosage and low cost. 

    4. At low concentrations (15~30ppm), it can also exert a good antibacterial effect, and the effect lasts for a long time. 

    5. It can be compatible with a wide range of formulation components such as anionic, cationic, and nonionic surfactants. 

    6. Excellent chemical stability, good compatibility with most raw materials or formulations, no metal ions. 

    7. The solvent used has no interference with the reagent reaction system and is compatible with key enzymes.

    Application 

    PC-300 bacteriostatic agent is a bacteriostatic agent dedicated to in vitro diagnostic reagents (IVD), including biochemical reagents, immunoassay reagents, molecular biological reagents, electrophoresis fluids, buffers related to PCR/DNA detection, blood cell analysis reagents, various diluents, buffers, cleaning solutions, etc. Warning: This product should not be used as a food, beverage additive, or preservative. 

    The stability of PC-300 bacteriostatic agent in product application is mainly affected by pH. Bacteriostatic agents are more stable in acidic environments (pH<7) and temperature-sensitive in weakly alkaline environments (preferably pH<8.5), in which case the final product is generally required to be stored at a temperature below 25oC. In the case of the product to which it is applied, the pH-related research should be tested separately according to the characteristics of the product. The following research will help you understand more about the application requirements. 

    o The advantage of isothiazolinone is that it is broad-spectrum antibacterial and mildew-proof, and the disadvantage is that when the pH value is 8.5~10, the degradation rate of isothiazolinone increases with the increase of the pH value of the solution (CMIT is not heat and alkali resistant, but MIT can be heat and alkali resistant). 

    o Isothiazolinone is relatively stable at low temperatures, and the degradation rate increases with the increase of solution temperature. At pH 7, natural light can be rapidly degraded (t ? = 322h), it is recommended that raw materials and finished products be stored in the dark. 

    o The solution containing sulfide and iron ions accelerates the photodegradation of isothiazolinone, and 2-valent ions such as copper, zinc, manganese, magnesium and phosphate can inhibit the chemical degradation of isothiazolinone.
